Conversations that transform
Alison Brunsdon, Founder & Global Executive Coach
Conversations, Coaching and Change
It is easy to talk about change and even implement change without much thought to the long-term impact on individuals, teams, and organizations. Traditional top-down conversations don’t stand up to the test of time. Intentional conversations and coaching drive embraceable and sustainable change.
We believe that professional coaching creates actions and accountabilities and drive results. A professional coach is more than a cheerleader within an organization. He or she uses education, skills, and experiences to assess an individual, team or organization and customize the best coaching approach for each situation.
“Coaching is one of the most, perhaps I could say, the most effective way of driving effective sustainable positive change for individuals, teams, and organizations.”
Coaching is the art and science that allows individuals to own their agendas and accountabilities and for individual development. The results can accelerate business changes and bottom-line results as well as develop individuals to achieve their full potential.
Effective coaching needs forward movement in the conversations and so this model shows my approach to coaching. With a start on relationship development, identifying results, reflecting on insights and feedback, planning to route and then setting up accountability, with the resolve and recognition of progress. We will work together in our coaching conversations to set and achieve your goals for results and development.

What People are Saying
I was fortunate to receive professional coaching from Alison through an executive leadership development series. Alison is engaging and intuitive. I was impressed with her ability to quickly synthesize information and formulate thought provoking questions. Her coaching skills were effective in helping me identify and reach several professional goals. I would highly recommend working with Alison in a coaching capacity!
Alison was instrumental in guiding efforts associated with a visible and complex non-profit CEO search. She coordinated a wide variety of activities, including the posting, screening, interviewing, and evaluation process. This also included training the interview team members on effective interviewing and questioning techniques. Her structured and process-minded approach enabled us to progress in a disciplined manner in order to reach a highly desirable outcome.
I have worked with Alison for over ten years and what has always impressed me is her innate ability to connect various strings of information, insights and conditions to create a big picture idea, innovative talent strategy or essential components to execute a project plan. Alison’s global perspective and significant international experience has helped me develop as a leader. I appreciate her style of practical coaching and constructive feedback.
Alison has played a significant role in shaping the success and sustainability of The Gathering Place’s young professional group. She has a unique ability to illuminate and leverage individual talent to serve shared goals. I have witnessed Alison adapt her engaging facilitating style to fit both small and large size groups. Our young professionals have applied professional development skills learned from Alison in their work outside our organization. We are beyond fortunate to have Alison on our team!
I was impressed with Alison’s ability to think strategically and insightfully. Alison quickly grasped the issues, and was innovative and creative in her problem-solving approach. Later, upon learning of Alison’s core passion for and capability of developing leaders at all levels to drive organizational results, I asked Alison to relocate from the UK to corporate HQ in the US – as head of Global Talent Development and Acquisition, she turned local “training” into a global talent function, effectively challenging the status quo and implementing ‘best-in-class’ development processes and systems.
Alison worked as my strategic HR partner for 10 years in my role as business manager. This was a great experience for me, building on many years of leading business teams. In addition to providing state of the art HR advice Alison engaged with whole team, facilitating meetings to build and execute a better business strategy that all players could own and be accountable for. As an experienced leader, Alison helped me see my blind spots with the right level of challenge and humour – a great coaching relationship which continued when we both moved on to different roles. Alison changed the perception and role of HR at our corporation from passive personnel and pay roll to one of dynamic business partnering. Her coaching ability intellect and strength are available to all fortunate enough to work with her.
